Volvo Trucks: Remote Repair and Maintenance


Situation

Volvo Group Trucks Germany manages over 145 workshops and dealers, with Product Quality Engineers (PQEs) handling approximately 80 technical cases per person each month. Many of these cases required PQEs to travel on-site, leading to increased costs and delays in service delivery. To enhance services, maximize productivity, accelerate issue resolution, and reduce costs, Volvo initiated the Industrial Video Project.

Solution

After evaluating potential solutions, Volvo implemented Librestream’s Onsight platform, deploying it on PCs, mobile devices, and RealWear HMT-1 wearables. This setup enabled hands-free remote assistance, allowing technicians to connect with PQEs in real-time, share visuals, and access necessary documentation without leaving the job site.
