John Bishop
John Bishop

John Bishop joined Librestream as President & CEO in 2019 after working with the company since 2011 as an independent director of the Board.

John is recognized as a digital video industry expert and pioneer through leadership positions at companies such as Akamai, the global Content Delivery Network leader, where he was Chief Technology Officer. Prior to Akamai, John led Strategic Video Initiatives at Cisco Systems following the acquisition of Inlet Technologies in 2011, a media technology company John co-founded that enabled the transformation of a $4T Television industry to online streaming.

Before starting Inlet, John held several leadership positions at Osprey Technologies, a media technology company enabling an analog to digital transformation setting the stage for the development modern day online streaming world, leading pre-sales, product management and business development.

Geoff J. Catherwood
Geoff J. Catherwood

Geoff J. Catherwood is a partner in the Industrial, Clean and Energy Technology Venture Fund. He joined BDC in 2001.

Geoff is a registered professional engineer who has 14 years of experience in industrial automation and process control. Prior to joining BDC, he worked for Bailey Canada and Asea Brown Boveri, two large multinational industrial process automation suppliers. Geoff has diverse operational experience in the process automation industry, including field service, system commissioning, engineering, management and sales. He administers the ICE portfolio in Western Canada and is active on the boards of several early-stage companies. He also volunteers in a number of programs promoting entrepreneurship, including New Ventures BC, an annual business plan competition.

Geoff holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia and an Executive MBA from Simon Fraser University. He has also completed the Canadian Securities Course.

Steve B. Peri
Steve B. Peri

After beginning his career as a litigation associate in a large New York firm, Steven Peri held senior legal positions at two Fortune 500 companies. He re-entered private practice as the co-founder and partner of Peri & Stewart, LLC, a New York area law firm where he represented a large number of privately held and foreign based companies in their US legal affairs. These efforts included management of sophisticated litigation, internal investigations and the drafting and negotiation of contracts, technology licenses and transactional documents, such as acquisition agreements.

In 2005, Mr. Peri became the Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Tandberg, ASA a publicly traded video conferencing company which was later acquired by Cisco Systems, Inc. In September 2011, Mr. Peri returned to private practice and the representation of a diverse group of clients, serving as the de facto General Counsel for several of them.

Steven Peri has been active in numerous business and charitable organizations. He is an Executive Trustee of the American Scandinavian Foundation and has served as the President of the Norwegian American Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Peri holds a JD degree from the University of Pennsylvania law school and an AB in History, cum laude, from Princeton University. He is admitted to practice in the States of New Jersey and New York, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the District of New Jersey and the Court of International Trade.

James A. Richardson
James A. Richardson

Jim Richardson is a retired Vice President of James Richardson & Sons Limited and the current President and Director of Westmead Limited. A graduate of Queens University, Jim has a broad business background and is an investor in several technology and oil and gas companies. He is extremely active in the community being Senior Manitoba Director of Ducks Unlimited, Past Chair of the Nature Conservancy of Canada (Manitoba Region), and a trustee of the Richardson Foundation Inc. He was Chair of Sport for the 1999 Pan American Games, Past President of Big Brothers of Canada, and has served on the boards of numerous other community organizations.

Jim is on the Board of Directors of several private Canadian companies including LibreStream Technologies Inc., Monteris Medical Inc., PSI Peripheral Solutions Inc., Telpay Incorporated, Tundra Oil and Gas Ltd, Lombard Realty Limited, and James Richardson & Sons Limited. In addition, Jim is a member of the Investment Committee of the Lex Capital Partners LP Fund, and the Lex Energy Partners Funds I, II, and III.

Kerry Thacher
Kerry Thacher

Kerry Thacher is a graduate Electrical Engineer and MBA from the University of Manitoba. He is the founder and past-CEO of Librestream Technologies Inc.

Prior to founding Librestream, Kerry was Vice President of Symbol Technologies Inc., a New York based global leader in the Enterprise Mobility market. He was responsible for Symbol’s Winnipeg operations that developed a variety of mobile computing products that achieved revenues in the hundreds of millions of dollars. Kerry had previously founded and was CEO of AirWire Mobile Technologies, which was acquired by Symbol in 1999. AirWire was involved in the development and manufacturing of hand held devices for the health care marketplace.

Kerry’s entrepreneurial career began in 1988, when he co-founded and acted as CEO for Ubitrex Corporation. The company developed a system to automate the capture of clinical data by nursing staff. The company was venture capital backed and was acquired by Continental Healthcare Systems of Overland Park Kansas in 1994. Kerry was responsible for Continental’s Canadian operations, until he founded AirWire in 1996.

Hai Tran-Viet
Hai Tran-Viet

Hai is a Senior Investor at the Canadian Business Growth Fund (CBGF). He is primarily focused on leading the investment team’s activities in transaction origination, execution, and portfolio management. In addition, he assists the CEO in management of the Fund.

Hai has over 17 years of experience in private equity and investment banking. He is passionate about working with entrepreneurs and has a track-record as an active partner with portfolio companies.

Prior to CBGF, Hai worked at Regimen Equity Partners, Signal Hill Equity Partners, and TD Capital (TD Bank’s merchant banking group). Hai graduated with an MBA from Columbia Business School and received a Bachelor of Science degree from McGill University. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Charles Vaslet
Charles Vaslet

Charles Vaslet is a Partner with Emerald Technology Ventures with more than 10 years of venture capital experience.

Prior to joining Emerald, Charles held the position of Vice President with ABB Equity Ventures, one of the world’s leading engineering companies, responsible for the development of large renewable energy projects in Europe. Previous to ABB, Charles led the business development activities of the cogeneration business of Innogy, a large UK electric utility, and has ten years of power utility experience, both engineering and commerce in the fields of renewable energy and thermal energy plants.

He currently serves on the Boards of Emergya Wind Technologies, P97 Networks, Senscient and River Basin Energy. In addition, Charles spearheads the European Energy Venture Fair, the preeminent European cleantech investor conference. Charles graduated with a Bachelor degree with Honours in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Leeds and a Master of Business Administration from Henley Management College.

Ben Weinberger
Ben Weinberger

Ben Weinberger is the co-founder and CEO of Digitalsmiths, the technology leader in the field of video search and recommendations. Under his leadership, Digitalsmiths developed game-changing video discovery solutions that are being adopted by several of the biggest names in cable, satellite, telco and broadcast . The company’s product, Seamless Discovery, revolutionized the speed and ease with which consumers can find personally relevant, engaging video content across multiple sources of entertainment and devices.

In February 2014, Ben was instrumental in Digitalsmiths being acquired by TiVo for $135 million in a move to expand on new opportunities to commercialize and deploy TiVo’s cloud based services and technologies to operators in conjunction with TiVo’s renowned user interface. Since the acquisition, Ben lead Digitalsmiths’ efforts in Latin America and Europe.

Ben also serves on the boards of the Southern Illinois University Alumni Association and Council for Entrepreneurial Development, a Durham, North Carolina nonprofit. Ben graduated with honors from Southern Illinois University.

Jereme Pitts Chief Operating Officer
Jereme Pitts

Jereme joined Librestream as COO in 2013 to lead the company’s sales, marketing and business development initiatives. He provides expertise in key industrial verticals such as manufacturing and field service.

Jereme has a proven track record in sales leadership and deep experience in start up and growth phases of a company specifically in video, SaaS and content management. In 1999, Jereme co-founded Accordent Technologies Inc., a leading provider of video content management and delivery solutions, where he served as its Senior VP of Sales and Marketing. In this role, Jereme grew revenue from $0 to a $20m run rate resulting in the sale of the business in 2011 to Polycom Inc., a global leading unified communications company. At Polycom, Jereme successfully integrated the business and achieved 100% growth in revenue year over year.

Will Sendall Chief Financial Officer
Will Sendall

Will Sendall joined Librestream as Chief Financial Officer in 2021 to lead the companies finance, accounting, legal and human resources functions. Will brings depth of experience in building organizations in support of high growth SaaS businesses.

Prior to joining Librestream, Will served as Chief Financial Officer of several high growth, SaaS businesses. Most recently, Will served as Chief Financial Officer for FM:Systems, a provider of SaaS based digital workplace solutions. Will also led the finance organization at Bronto Software, culminating in Bronto’s acquisition by NetSuite in 2015.

Marieke Wijtkamp SVP, Marketing
Marieke Wijtkamp

Marieke brings 25 years of marketing and executive leadership experience to Librestream where she is responsible for all aspects of marketing and communications.

Marieke has held leadership positions in operations, marketing, business development, and strategic planning for technology companies including OMT Technologies where she was the President & COO (TSX:OMT). At OMT, she spent six years growing its two digital media operating divisions with strategic partners such as Music Choice and CBC-Galaxie.

Prior to OMT, Marieke was VP Marketing/Strategic Planning at Norsat International Inc. (NASDAQ:NSAT, TSX:NII), a global satellite technology company, and Infocorp Computer Solutions (TSX:INP), an international point of sale software solutions company. Marieke holds her MBA from the University of Manitoba specializing in marketing and finance.

Charlie Neagoy SVP, Customer Success
Charlie Neagoy
Charlie brings more than 20 years experience in technical business development, sales, and product management to Librestream, where he leads the Customer Success organization, helping our customers achieve their business goals through Librestream’s solutions and services. His diverse industry experience includes digital media, optical communications, aerospace, and industrial process measurement.

Prior to Librestream, Charlie was VP of Partner Sales at Inlet Technologies, a leader in live, over-the-top video streaming. In this role, he established relationships with systems integrators, content owners, and broadcasters to deliver live and on-demand video to any device, anywhere. His customers included ESPN, Major League Baseball, Apple, Microsoft, NBCU, and others. Inlet was acquired by Cisco Systems in 2011.

Previously, Charlie held increasingly senior roles at JDS Uniphase, ultimately as Director of JDSU’s Integrated Optics Business Unit, where he led the growth of its high speed optical components business to over $100M annually. He began his career with AT&T, where he held various roles in sales, product management, and finance.

Dean Woods SVP, Global Sales
Dean Woods

Dean brings more than 25 years’ experience in Communications Technology and more than 10 years’ experience in IOT and Digital Transformation. His experience is primarily in Strategy, Sales and Business Development ranging from start-up environments through to working globally for major corporations. During this time Dean has worked throughout EMEA, Asia and North America.

Prior to Librestream, Dean spent 10 years with one of the world’s largest Mobile Network Operators, Telenor, where he served in a number of roles including CSO in the Management Team of their global IOT company , Telenor Connexion. During his time in this final role, Dean had revenue and budget responsibilities for 6 company divisions which included all four global sales regions, Indirect Channel Sales and Technical Solution Management.

Previously Dean has held a number of senior roles including Service Sales Director of Nordics and Baltics for Huawei Technologies and he also served as Managing Director for 12 years for a company he founded back in 1995.

Mike Kidwell VP, Human Resources
Mike Kidwell

Mike has been in the human resources field for over 35 years. He joins Librestream after last serving as the Senior Director of Talent Management for FoodLogiQ, a leading food safety and traceability software solutions provider. Prior to that, he was the Vice President of Human Resources and Administration for Demand Signals, a digital marketing software products company spun off from Three Ships Marketing and acquired by Tranzact in 2016. Prior to Demand Signals, Mike served as the Vice President of Human Resources for StrikeIron, a venture capital backed SaaS products company acquired by Informatica in 2014. Prior to StrikeIron, Mike worked for two other venture capital backed companies that experienced rapid growth, including Inlet Technologies, a video software products company acquired by Cisco in 2011 and TapRoot Systems, an embedded wireless software company specializing in the smartphone market. The experience that Mike gained in leading the human resources function at each of these companies has deepened his understanding of the need to hire the best people that you can find and provide a work environment where they can flourish. He received his undergraduate education in Business Administration from Hawaii Pacific University.

Bill Gillanders VP, Engineering
Bill Gillanders

William (Bill) Gillanders is a graduate of Electrical Engineering from the University of Manitoba. He is currently Vice President of Engineering and a founding member of Librestream Technologies Inc.

Prior to Librestream, Bill was Senior Director of Programs for Symbol Technologies Inc. Winnipeg Product Development office. Bill’s responsibility at Symbol was the establishment and maintenance of the Project Management Office, while overseeing the development of various Enterprise Mobility products. Bill led and guided project teams to deliver products on time and within budget, achieving revenues in the hundreds of millions of dollars.

Prior to Symbol Technologies, Bill held progressively more senior roles with Lockheed Martin Corp. developing airborne electronic systems ranging from mission computers to radars. His entrance to the industry began on the operations side of electronic product development for Unisys.

Kent Wotherspoon VP, Software Development
Kent Wotherspoon

Kent Wotherspoon is a graduate of Computer Engineering from the University of Manitoba. He is currently Vice President of Software Development and a founding member of Librestream Technologies Inc.

Kent has held prior leadership, software development and systems engineering roles at several technology companies. Prior to Librestream, Kent was a Senior Software Engineer at the Symbol Technologies Inc. Winnipeg Product Development office. Kent’s responsibility at Symbol was technical lead and software developer on enterprise mobility products with a primary focus on the research and development of Voice-over-IP solutions for wireless handheld devices. Before Symbol, at Edge Networks Corporation Kent was technical lead and developer of a broadcast-quality transcoding multimedia streaming server.

Prior to Edge Networks, Kent spent over a dozen years with Lockheed Martin Corporation in Winnipeg and Ottawa, holding progressively more senior development roles culminating in the role of Principal Systems Engineer on a variety of airborne and naval mission computer development projects.

Tim Harader VP, Business Development
Tim Harader

With over 20 years as a business and product development executive and entrepreneur in the field of digital media technology, Tim draws from a diverse career background that spans from the dawn of computer-based film & tv editing through the latest AR/VR technologies and cloud-based service architectures. Along the way he’s been intimately involved in the maturation and acceptance of digital media from novelty to sea change across many segments: traditional broadcast, web and enterprise streaming, Internet advertising, digital cinema, hd optical disk, interactive web media, and virtual reality.

As VP of Business Development at Librestream, Tim’s focus is on strategic Technology Platform and Systems Integration partnerships that drive the development and market penetration of next generation customer scenarios. Innovations like AR/VR, AI/ML, and IoT are central to our vision of the field worker of the future and Librestream will continue to be an Industry leader as we deliver software and services built on these transformational technologies.

Prior to Librestream, Tim spent the bulk of his career at Microsoft Corporation, focused on the development and industry adoption of new media technologies spanning from early Internet video streaming to the latest in augmented reality. He has played pivotal roles in industry milestones and innovations, including the acceptance of online streaming for Hollywood video product, the first pc-based digital cinema network, Internet video advertising, standardization of media formats and delivery mechanisms, and rich, interactive web applications. As an entrepreneur, Tim has been a pioneer in the areas of object-based interactivity for video and virtual reality location-based entertainment.

Dan Flynn VP, North American Sales
Dan Flynn

Dan has 20 years experience in sales and business development at companies ranging from early stage high growth to global corporations. At Librestream, Dan is responsible for North American Sales. His experience includes Networking, Security, Hosting, Video, Enterprise and SaaS software platforms, and Big Data.

Prior to Librestream, Dan was Head of Channel Sales for Comcast Technology Solutions, the global market leader in SaaS Platform OTT Video. In this role, he established relationships with ecosystem, channel, and business development partnerships, working directly with end user clients and partners.

Prior to Comcast, Dan created a new business vertical for Conviva, a real-time Big Data platform, resulting in new use cases and products that delivered substantial revenue. Dan has held revenue responsibility up to $300M annually.

Michael Murphy VP, Emerging Markets
Michael Murphy

Mike is responsible for Librestream’s expansion into new markets and geographies, and has worked for more than 30 years within the communication, aerospace, maritime, mining, energy, and defence industries. Within these verticals Mike has held responsibilities for Sales/Business Development, as well as R&D and Product Management roles. Mike has successfully delivered on these functions across multiple locations within EMEA, NA and Asia Pacific. Uniquely, Mike has been in the position of being both a supplier of innovative products and solutions, as well as an end-user and integrator.

Prior to Librestream Mike held positions within Shell Group, BAE Systems (Maritime), Xylem-SENSUS, JDS Uniphase, CISCO and Nokia, but also includes SME’s and start-ups progressing to successful IPO and/or acquisition – including Integrated Optical Components (IOC), SDL and Inlet Technologies. Product diversity has ranged from super-fast optical devices for high capacity fibre networks, to IoT sensors and networks for ‘smart energy communities’ in Japan, to underwater sonar solutions for the Royal Navy’s nuclear submarine fleet.

Mike holds a BSc (Physics) from the University of Sheffield, and a PhD (Electronic Engineering) from the University of Liverpool. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and a Chartered Engineer.

Dan Brown VP, European Sales
Dan Brown

Dan Brown brings over 15 years of sales leadership experience in technology, IoT and digital transformation across the UK, EMEA and North America. Dan is responsible for the European Sales at Librestream and draws upon his experience in building growth, delivering on customers’ needs and leading teams that exceed targets.

Prior to joining Librestream, Dan served as Sales Director for Westbase Technology, a leading 4G/5G and IoT distributor in Europe. He also spent 5 years with one of the world largest mobile network operators, Telenor as Head of UK & Americas leading the Sales and Account Management team to drive growth in the IOT connectivity space. Dan has also worked for Apple, leading the Sales Teams responsible for providing business solutions to SME’s.
